Description

Unhurried. Unrivalled. Unforgettable.

This is slow-grown meat at its very best, a true reflection of the land it comes from. In a unique collaboration, Aurox is proud to present this exceptional Hebridean Hogget, reared with care by Julius Roberts on his family farm in Dorset.

A True Taste of the Land

Julius's Hebridean hoggets are raised on rich, biodiverse pastures that haven’t seen a chemical in over 40 years. Originally from the northern islands of Scotland, the Hebridean is a rare and beautiful breed. Small in stature, it has distinctive horns and thick, wiry black wool.

Living outdoors for nearly two full years, these animals graze on wild grasses and flowers as nature intended. This unhurried life develops a deep, complex flavour that is simply impossible to replicate in modern farming—the result is tender, robust meat marbled to perfection.

Farming for the Future

This hogget isn’t just about exceptional taste. It represents a conscious choice to support a regenerative approach to farming that puts wildlife, soil health, and sustainability first. By choosing meat raised this way, you directly contribute to a better, more ethical food system that works in harmony with nature.

An Annual, Limited Offering

These Hebridean Hoggets are only available once a year. Their numbers are limited by what the land can sustainably support, making this a truly rare opportunity.

Your half hogget box will be packed with care by our butchers and delivered to your door via our next-day courier service.

IMPECCABLE MEATS

More Ethical

If you could buy meat from animals that are guaranteed to have lived a longer, fuller and more meaningful life, why wouldn't you?

Total Transparency

Butchers rarely provide full traceability on their meat – we do. You'll know all the interesting details on every steak you buy from us.

Bigger Flavour

There's a significant point of difference in the flavour of meat from fully mature animals compared to younger, commercially reared stock.
