Iron Age pics are a cross between a pedigree Tamworth sow and a Eurasian Wild boar. This type of pig, first developed nearly 50 years ago, represents what early domesticated pigs might have looked and tasted like 4,000 years ago.
Our pigs roam free in a large area of fenced woodland living on a natural diet for over ten months, twice as long as a commercial breed. Their meat is dark and full flavoured, like that of wild boar, but with the fat content of a Tamworth, making them highly prized by chefs.
